For me, MOJO picks up where Simon Bailey’s book, Release Your Brilliance, left off. Dr. Goldsmith, author of MOJO, also acknowledges that real success is birthed internally. He defines MOJO as that positive spirit toward what we are doing now that starts from the inside and radiates to the outside.

Dr. Goldsmith’s book is based on mastering the 4 keys to identity, achievement, reputation and acceptance. These four keys are vital to capturing and releasing MOJO as oftentimes overachieving men and women tend to become stagnant in their professional careers once they reach their pinnacle.

Unfortunately, when this happens it could lead to a disconnect with clients and subordinates who are usually directly impacted by this behavior.

What I like most about this book is the fact that Dr. Goldsmith bases his study on business leaders he has coached over the years. Therefore, he can accurately give an assessment of what works and what doesn’t.

The perspectives and tools provided were very insightful and practical. They serve as a guide for present and future leaders who may have lost their way and need to re-ignite their MOJO.
