Have You Ever Considered Changing Your Career?

The thought alone makes some of us shutter.  The idea of having to start over, get the proper training, revise your resume, etc., seems like a daunting task doesn’t it?

Actually changing careers can be a welcoming experience if you plan strategically and commit to the end. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

Life is meant to be lived, doing those things we enjoy most.  Wouldn’t it be nice to have a vocation that doesn’t resemble a job?  Think about it, if you took the time to discover what you are naturally good at and if you could make a decent living doing it, wouldn’t it be worth the effort?

To help you on the road to achieving a vocation that will give you the satisfaction of not working another day in your life, check out these tips at http://www.careeroverview.com/career-change-tips.html

Are You “For” or “Against” Health Care Reform

Ihave heard so many viewpoints about Health Care Reform that I decided to dig through all the rhetoric and get an understanding for myself.
Recently laid off and denied health insurance coverage by one of the top five major health insurance companies in the U.S. due to a so called “pre-existing condition,” I jumped into the fray.

I was vetted by this nice salesman throughout the entire pre-signing process. After it was determined by their internal investigation that I “could” be a potential liability to their bottom line, I was not only denied coverage but my nice salesman disappeared.

Now I don’t know about you but I’ve never heard of any for-profit businesses turning away customers.  Have you?

This is why I’m for Health Care Reform, we need it and we need it NOW!  There are a lot of myths floating around out there about health care reform but I stumbled upon this great article in the Washington Post that helped me separate fact from fiction.

Check it out for yourself so that you too can be better informed and dispel all the myths.

Less Labor Day Travel This Year

AAA forecasts less Labor Day travel this year http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap_travel/20090826/ap_tr_ge/us_travel_brief_labor_day_travel and I think I know why.

Labor Day is the first Monday in September observed as a holiday in the United States and Canada in honor of working people.  The operative word here is working and unfortunately there are many people who are not so this forecast was an easy one to make.

Be that as it may, whether you’re unemployed, underemployed or working, you still can enjoy your Labor Day weekend.  Gasoline is much cheaper than it was a year ago so traveling by car is definitely a way to go.  Not to mention with all the special holiday deals  http://current.newsweek.com/budgettravel/2009/08/finding_labor_day_travel_deals.html to choose from you can plan a really nice weekend without breaking the bank.

So armed with good choices and enough planning beforehand, you owe it to yourself to observe a day (or weekend) in which you have contributed to irregardless of your employment status today.

Labor Day is a day given to us to rest and take it easy reflecting on our life’s journey.  Enjoy!
