WE ARE F-A-M-I-L-Y

FamilyStudies
The definition of family is a group of individuals living under one roof and usually under one head, which is where we get the term, household.  I believe family is better defined as a group of people living together systematically to drive one another crazy, which is where we get the term, haunted house.

Be that as it may, we weren’t privy to the selection of our family members although we fit uniquely together.  Family sets the tone for how we are raised, where we attend school, our place of worship and an atmosphere for making friends.  As children we learn good and bad behavior, tolerances and in-differences.  Our social, spiritual, and political views are shaped by those who have been entrusted over us.

In life we experience personal offenses that may have never been addressed, apologies never given and forgiveness issues; then there are the pats on the back that were not received, sharing love openly and saying I love you constantly.  These encounters or the lack thereof have shaped us, our thinking and how we interact with one another.

All families face life changing experiences and knowing there are resources to help us along the way can be comforting.  I found this great website http://family.tips.net/ which is an excellent reference that offer tips on resolving family issues.
