Less Labor Day Travel This Year

AAA forecasts less Labor Day travel this year http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap_travel/20090826/ap_tr_ge/us_travel_brief_labor_day_travel and I think I know why.

Labor Day is the first Monday in September observed as a holiday in the United States and Canada in honor of working people.  The operative word here is working and unfortunately there are many people who are not so this forecast was an easy one to make.

Be that as it may, whether you’re unemployed, underemployed or working, you still can enjoy your Labor Day weekend.  Gasoline is much cheaper than it was a year ago so traveling by car is definitely a way to go.  Not to mention with all the special holiday deals  http://current.newsweek.com/budgettravel/2009/08/finding_labor_day_travel_deals.html to choose from you can plan a really nice weekend without breaking the bank.

So armed with good choices and enough planning beforehand, you owe it to yourself to observe a day (or weekend) in which you have contributed to irregardless of your employment status today.

Labor Day is a day given to us to rest and take it easy reflecting on our life’s journey.  Enjoy!
